Professional Leadership & Expertise

At the helm of 218 Surveying is Paul Herkenhoff, a Minnesota Professional Land Surveyor with over 25 years of specialized experience in both the public and private sectors. Paul’s career is defined by a deep understanding of the Minnesota landscape—not just from the field, but from the regulatory side as well.

Before founding 218 Surveying, Paul served as the Crow Wing County Surveyor and the Environmental Services Manager. This unique background gives our clients a distinct advantage: we don't just provide measurements; we understand the complexities of zoning administration, board of adjustment coordination, and county ordinance amendments.

A Comprehensive Approach

  • Governmental & Public Sector: Extensive experience in subdivision reviews, right-of-way plats, and floodplain regulation.

  • Project Management: Directing complex projects from initial field surveying to final planning commission approval.

  • Environmental Oversight: Navigating environmental services and land use regulations with precision.

Education & Licensure

Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a focus on Land Surveying and a minor in GIS from St. Cloud State University. He is a licensed Professional Surveyor in the State of Minnesota (#45875) and an active member of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS).
